Commissioning a garden design
When first contacted by a client, we arrange an initial meeting so that we can visit their garden; discuss our design ideas as well as any of their own plans and aspirations for the space. This enables us to gain an understanding of the scale of the project. A proposal is then prepared for our client, recommending which design services they require and outlining the costs involved.
If Slate Grey is commissioned, we then return to carry out a full garden survey; mapping out garden boundaries, existing buildings, features, trees and levels. When this is complete we then arrange a further meeting to discuss the design brief, our initial layout ideas and potential material choices.
Following this meeting we prepare our concept drawings and a mood board for client approval. Once approved we will produce and present a full scale colour master plan along with the associated build costs for the finished project. If required we can produce sectional and perspective drawings to help our clients fully visualise their new garden.
Slate Grey’s award winning design team consists of Richard Ayles, Victoria Chesterfield and Ali Diess.
